‘Green 17’ tour headed to Disney
Flogging Molly are due to make its way to Orlando in their 10th annual “Green 17 Tour,” in support their new album “Speed of Darkness.” They will be performing at the House Of Blues Feb. 18. at 6:30 p.m.
Flogging Molly is an American seven piece Celtic punk band that formed in 1997. The band is considered a leading music of pioneer in Celtic punk genre. Flogging Molly’s music is a mixture of punk rock and Celtic instruments that include; the bodhran — played by lead singer Dave King, the tin whistle and fiddle — played by Bridget Regan, the accordion and concertina — Matt Hensley, and also the mandolin and banjo that is played by Bob Schmidt, along with many other instruments.
It has been said that their music has been influenced by great artists such as The Clash, Johnny Cash and Horslip. The lyrics of the band usually pertains to different subjects like Ireland and its history, drinking, love and death.
