Hard Rock Live ready for sold-out Arctic Monkeys show

As support of their fifth studio album “AM” the Arctic Monkeys will be coming to Orlando to play a gig at the Hard Rock Live on Jan. 31.

Doors open at 7 p.m. to all ages, and the venue has declared this a sold-out show.

Arctic Monkeys are a British indie rock band from Sheffield, England that formed in 2002 by frontman Alex Turner. They have a unique style that ranges anywhere from fast-paced punk rock to dreamy guitar riffs and beyond.

The quartet: Alex Turner, vocals; Jamie Cook, guitar; Nick O’Malley, bass; and Matt Helders, drums — are considered to be pioneers by many in the business, not just for their ever changing sounds, but for being the first of many internet-age bands to go viral.

Early on in their career, the band’s demos became part of the file-sharing revolution, when fans of the Arctic Monkeys took it upon themselves to upload the groups songs to the Internet and let the wildfire spread.

The Arctic Monkeys early singles have garnered them the fastest selling debut album of any British band in history, two Grammy nominations and a tour history that includes Lollapalooza and the 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony in London.

The bands 2014 calendar is filling up fast with the “AM Tour” coming to a close in July.

They’ve already received two nominations at this year’s Brit Awards for “Best British Group” and  “British Album of the Year” for their 2013 release “AM.” They are also scheduled to perform at the awards.
