MegaCon 2022 is in full swing this weekend and our reporters were ready to find out how Valencia students are unwinding this summer and enjoying this exciting pop culture convention. MegaCon is the first largest convention of its kind in the Southeastern U.S. The event runs from Thursday, May 19, until Sunday, May 22. With attendance expected to exceed the 2019 record of 120,000, this sold out event features all things nerd, pop, and social media culture. With a 400,000 sq. ft. space, comfortable shoes are essential to navigate both Concourses and the main hall. We met up with some Valencia students, faculty and graduates as they attended.

FanExpoHQ's MegaCon, a pop culture or "comic" convention, is recognized as the third largest convention of its type in the U.S., first largest in the Southeast. With over 120,000 attendees in 2019, the move to the OCCC North and South Concourses will see a likely increase to this year. The event is sold out and guests have a chance for autograph signings, panels, games, tabletop, meetups, photo shoots, shopping, and competitions.
