In this stage full of raw emotions, “Candles in the Dark” unleashes a sense of strength through vulnerable storytelling.
The show is set in a dark room where victims of sexual assault walk in holding candles, then take a seat and share the spotlight one at a time.
Writer, Tracey Jane, compiles the stories of local victims, and actors portray them through monologue. While being extremely simplistic in delivery, the words of real victims make this show worth watching.
What’s even greater about this show, is that all performance proceeds go toward benefitting The Victim Service Center of Central Florida, an organization that offers free healing services for victims.
