Light Up UCF Celebrates 8th Year

The only place you can find snow and Santa in Orlando this year will be at Light Up UCF.

Light Up UCF has returned for the 8th annual year for friends and families to enjoy. With activities like ice skating, light shows, a film festival, and even rides, you can’t miss out on this affordable event.

“Being able to ice skate on campus reminds me of back home,” said UCF junior Bryanna Jackson.

Light Up UCF is up an going at the CFE Arena and will run through Sunday, Jan. 3.

For families, holiday activities can be quite pricy, but most attractions at Light Up UCF are free.

The free activities consist of a holiday light show presented by Orlando Sanford International Airport which includes thousands of choreographed lights. You can also see some of your favorite holiday movies at the film festival.  Shows are every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday night, so be sure to check the schedule.

Ice skating and rides range in price from $4 to $13, so this event is definitely worth it.  Tickets for these attractions can be purchased at the CFE Arena Box Office or at ticketmaster.com

New to this event this year is Santa’s Workshop, so instead of waiting in a long line at the mall, stop by to take a picture with Santa Clause.

Another addition this year is a Holiday Market that will take place December 12 and 13 that includes vendors that will be selling various holiday goods.

Make sure not to miss out on this affordable family event right around the corner.
