Gladiators continue tormenting Solar Bears

The South Division leading Gwinnett Gladiators have the Orlando Solar Bears numbered so far this season, Giving the Solar Bears their third consecutive loss in the past three games and as well keep them winless against their division rivals Gwinnett.

“We have a tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot sometimes,” said Solar Bears head coach Drake Berehowsky.”We took a lot of penalties tonight on discipline, we coughed up some pucks we shouldn’t have, and I thought their goalie played a hell of a game.”

The Solar Bears have allowed eight goals in the last three games, all which goalkeeper John Curry is responsible for.

Orlando has also started their seven game home stand with back-to-back losses and have to face The Gladiators again on Sunday Nov. 11.

“For the most part they have been close games, and I think a lot of it is what we’re doing I don’t think it’s anything special there doing,” said Solar Bears center Ryan Cruthers. “Our power play has to get going. The way we started our power play was one of the best in the league and now were falling off but well adjust.”

Gwinnett has striked first in all of the games against Orlando keeping the Solar Bears playing catch up.

“You always want to score the first goal, it’s hard to play catch up all the time,” said Cruthers.”We’re not getting the brakes right now, were working hard and it is tough catching up but I think we can easily have the first goal.”

The Gladiators sit firmly at the top of the division with a six game winning streak and have Casey Pierro-Zabotel the league leader in points while Orlando is third and seeks to finish with giving Gwinnett a defeat on the next home game.
