Secular Student Alliance Host Ellery Schempp

The Secular Student Alliance and the Student Government have arranged for Ellery Schempp to talk to students Wednesday, October 20 at 1:30 p.m. This will take place on the West campus, in the HSB building, room 105. The talk entitled “Our Constitution and the Bible” is free to attend and all are welcome.
Schempp is a advisory board member for the Secular Student Alliance nationwide, and conducts speaking engagements across the country. He is most famous for his role in the Abington School District v. Schempp supreme court case which ruled school sanctioned bible readings unconstitutional. With a background education in physics, Schempp lectures on the role of religion in today’s society and the ideas of the separation of church and state.
