This summer, Central Florida Dog Moms (CFDM), a social media-based community, will host Summer Paw-Looza, a dog-friendly event uniting pet parents while spotlighting local businesses and Orlando’s vibrant dog-loving scene.
Founded by Angie Marrero, 27, CFDM curates dog-friendly content and hosts events that celebrate the bond between humans and their pets.
“We want to create fun, welcoming spaces where dog parents can connect, shop, and explore new places with their pups,” Marrero said.
When asked about this exciting upcoming event, Marrero reveals that 10+ vendors will be taking part. “We are gonna have doggy ice cream from King of Pops, mini grooms by Woofie’s, live music, freebies, raffles, and more,” Marrero said.
Orlando ranks as the second most dog-friendly city in the U.S., just behind Tampa, with 376 pet-friendly restaurants, 128 hotels, and 15 veterinarians across only 113.7 square miles, according to a study from pet product brand, Honest Paws.
CFDM taps into this potential by giving pet owners fun, social, and inclusive ways to experience the city with their furry friends by their side. These events also offer a platform for local vendors like Pei and Threads, a handmade pet accessory brand owned by Jessica O’Connell that specializes in thoughtfully designed bandanas, bows, collars, and more to keep dogs looking stylish.
Events like Summer Paw-Looza offer more than sales, they foster loyal relationships and community engagement.
With 56% of Florida residents owning pets and 36% of dog owners willing to spend over $4,000 on their pets, as reported by the World Population Review, the state’s passion for pups is clear. CFDM events tap into that passion and strengthen the social fabric among pet parents.
Students like Jennifer Hernandez, 22, a UCF dog mom, said the dog-friendly movement makes a difference. “It helps me meet other dog parents and makes Orlando feel more welcoming,” she shared. “Central Florida Dog Moms keeps me and my Zara [Jennifer’s 2 year old standard black poodle] entertained and connected with the community.”
Whether you’re shopping for handmade leashes and accessories or making new furry friends, Summer Paw-Looza is more than a cute outing. The Central Florida Dog Moms events are a celebration of community, connection, and Central Florida’s deep love for dogs.
Summer Paw-Looza will take place in Winter Garden’s Home State Brewing on Saturday, June 21st from 4:00 to 8:00pm. For more information, follow @centralfldogmoms on Instagram.
