Come Celebrate Spirit Day!

Spirit Day is annual celebration on different Valencia campuses filled with food, music and games.

Spirit Day is a college-wide celebration with events happening on multiple Valencia campuses this Thursday Oct. 13.

West Campus will be holding Spirit Day in the SSB patio from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. There will be many activities, including music, games and even a photo booth. Students will also have a chance to try the exotic cuisine featured at the food trucks.

Some of the food trucks include the Currywurst Truck, which will be serving German inspired dishes, such as the bratwurst roll and the German potato salad. Another featured food truck is the Curbside Menu truck, which will have the Middle Eastern falafel salad. There will also be the Guacamoli truck, which will feature dishes from South America. So whether you’re in the mood for sauerkraut, a burrito or hummus, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

East Campus is bringing some serious spirit by having Spirit Week dress up! Monday was “Pajama Day”, Tuesday was “Athletes v. Mathletes Day”, Wednesday is “Home Country Pride,” Thursday is “School Pride Day,” and Friday is “Crazy Sock Day.”

The school spirit doesn’t stop there for East. In the Mall Area from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m Thursday, there will be prizes, giveaways, and lots of music. There will even be a chance to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month from 12-1 p.m. with a live presentation of cultural music and dancing.

On the Lake Nona campus, Spirit Day will be commencing from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be steel drums and giveaways during those hours, so you don’t want to miss it.

Osceola campus Spirit Day will be held in Building 4 in front of the clocktower from 11 a.m. until  2 p.m.

Winter Park campus will be ready for Spirit Day with games, prizes and food from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the courtyard and lounge areas, Some of the featured fare will be hamburgers, frozen coffee and cake shooters. They will also offer henna tattoos and themed pictures.

Make sure you come out to support your local Valencia campus during Spirit Day on Thursday and don’t forget to wear your red!
