)

Megacon 2014 has finally arrived. Fans who have been eagerly waiting will flourish with excitement when presented with all the entertainment and guest this year’s event has to offer.

The largest anime, science-fiction, and comic book convention in the south will be held at the Orange County Convention Center March 21-23: Friday — 1 p.m.- 7; Saturday — 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday — 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Many fandoms come together to show their love for anime, comic books, or sci-fi. They will literally wear their devotion proudly as they near perfectly portray the character their imitating in the art of cosplay. Expect to see your occasional Deadpools, Naruto’s, and Star Wars fans walking around.

Megacon always brings the biggest anime costume contest in Florida. Including the legendary Cyberia dance party, anime music video contest, cosplay, art, and gaming.

Rob Paulsen, Jennifer Hale, Phil Lamarr are few-of-many many anime guest who are appearing this year.

The costume contest takes place Saturday at 4:30 p.m in room S330 A-F. Cash prize to the winner.

The legendary high energy Cyberia dance party takes between 8 p.m – 11:15 p.m. There will be limited capacity — wristbands are required for entree and will be handed out midday Saturday.

This year’s guest of honor will be legendary comic book writer Stan Lee. Despite the other festivities, a chance to meet Lee is an attraction itself (to me at least).

David Morrissey, Steven Yeun and other cast members of the popular television show “The Walking Dead” will be present, along with comic book creators such as Mark Waid, Mike Miller, Neal Adams, and Bryan Johnson.

Megacon tickets will vary depending on if you buy them online or onsite. To avoid long lines it is recommended to buy your ticket online. Online tickets also offers cheaper prices rather to onsite. Online is $25 per day, while onsite is $30 per day.

Try to arrive early because parking will be crowded. Parking is $9 per car entry and $15 per oversized vehicle entry. Cash, Visa, Master Cards, and American Express will be accepted.

If difficult to find parking, other options are to be held at The Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at Seaworld, The Peabody Orlando or Pointe Orlando.

See you there.
