Solar Bears, Gwinnett game to be televised on WKMG

Looking for the perfect mix of adrenaline, sportsmanship, excitement and ice? The Orlando Solar Bears are having their second televised broadcast of the season on Saturday, Feb. 15, against inter-division rivals, the Gwinnett Gladiators.

The game will air on CBS local affiliate WKMG, Local 6 at 7:00 p.m. live from the Amway Center.

Orlando is currently in 8th in the Eastern Conference, with 24 wins, 16 losses, and 51 total points, and will face Gwinnett, who is last place in the South Division with 18 wins, 26 losses and, 39 points.

The last time the solar bears played on local 6, they suffered a 3-2 loss to the Florida Everblades back on Dec. 28.

WKMG sports director David Pingalore will do color commentary for the broadcast, while the solar bears’ Bob Mills will be doing the play-by-play

This string of home games also celebrates Faith & Family Weekend. This event spotlights three different Christian bands performing during intermission of the game, with the Gospel band and choir C7, performing Saturday. There will also be food drives to benefit the Christian Service Center all weekend long.

The first 3,000 fans in attendance on Saturday will receive a Shades mascot Bobblehead. The giveaway is sponsored by Walgreens.
