Attendees try out different chowders during last year’s Chowder Festival.

If you are a fan of New England clam chowder or any other type of chowder, then the 2nd Annual Chowder Festival is right up your alley.

This year’s Chowder Fest will take place at the Winter Park Farmer’s Market on Wednesday, Jan. 22 from 6 – 9:30 p.m. with admission starting at $25 until Jan. 21 and the price of tickets jumping up to $30 after the 21st.

There will be unlimited samplings for those in attendance, as well as 4-5 oz beer and wine pours.

The coveted prize at the Chowder Festival is the 2014 Chowder Cup, which goes to the best chowder made by local food vendors. Judges for the Chowder Cup will include former NFL player Darcy Johnson, as well as Daniel Pacchioni of WPRK 91.5.

Fleming’s Steakhouse took home the 2013 Chowder Cup, while John & Shirley’s Catering won 2nd place.

John & Shirley’s, Sea Dog Brewing Company, Winter Park Fish Co., Whole Foods Winter Park and First Watch will be among the businesses competing this year.

Dunkin Donuts will also be on hand with donuts and coffee, while Orlando City Soccer will be hosting a wine table at the event.

The Chowder Festival this year will be benefiting Heart to heart of Central Florida, with all donations being tax deductible.
