UCF dominates Jacksonville

Tristan Spurlock got his second double-double of the season on Saturday night against Jacksonville.

Tristan Spurlock had 23 points and 11 rebounds on his way to his second double-double of the season, during the UCF Knights 104-64 victory over the Jacksonville University Dolphins on Tuesday night at CFE Arena.

Senior guard Isaiah Sykes did his part to the tune of 17 points, 6 assists and 3 rebounds on Saturday.

UCF dominated the game from the opening tip-off, using an early 11-0 run to jump out to a 21-4 lead over Jacksonville midway through the first half. The Knight’s wouldn’t look back from that point on, as they went into the locker room at halftime leading 54-28.

Jacksonville’s offense struggled during the opening half, shooting 35.3% from the floor, while going 1-10 from behind the three-point line.

The Knights extended their lead to double of the Dolphins score early in the second half, when UCF went on a 15-2 run to jump out to a 69-30 lead. Jacksonville would never get closer than the 2-2 tie that started the game.

UCF finished the game shooting 13-28 from the three-point line, which was good enough for 46.4%.

With the win UCF improves their record to 6-3 for the season. The Knights next game will be on Saturday, Dec. 21 against Rio Grande as apart of the Jackson Hewitt UCF Holiday Classic.

Tip-off for the game against Rio Grande is set for 4 p.m. at CFE Arena.
