Hipster rapper Danny Brown to play Plaza ‘Live’ Theatre

By the way of Detroit, our very own “bruh bruh”Danny Brown makes his way to Orlando.

Brown is signed to independent record label Fool’s Gold, and is known for his high pitched voice and signature wild hair. MTV described him as “one of rap’s most unique figures in recent memory.”

His standout track of 2012, “Grown Up”, led him to receive his first award as an artist at the 2013 Woodie Awards. Brown won the award for “Best Video.”

His new album, titled “Old,” was released in October. It debuted at No. 17 on the US Billboard 200 Chart and sold 15 thousand copies in the first week of its release.

While “Old” is Brown’s third studio album, it’s actually only his first  to be released to music retailers. All of his prior projects were self-released as free downloads on various blog sites.

It includes contributions from rapper ASAP Rocky. Other appearances on the album include are made by Schoolboy Q, Ab-Soul, Kitty and Purity Ring, and Charli XCX.

His album “XXX”, released in 2011 was named to hip-hop album of the year by SPIN. It was also allotted the No. 19 spot on the list of the “Top 50 albums of 2011” by Pitchfork.

Brown will make his way to The Plaza Live on Wednesday Dec. 4. Doors open at 8 p.m. The show starts at 9 p.m.

Florida-based artist Eric Biddines will open the show.  Biddines emerged from Palm Beach County, and has a style that has been compared to those of southern collective the Dungeon Family.
