ORLANDO – Jesse Dudas made his first goal with the Orlando Solar Bears on Saturday’s, Feb. 6, game against the South Carolina Stingrays.

The goal was the only one scored for the Solar Bears, who lost 3-1.

“It feels good. It’s always good to score goals,” said Dudas. “A lot of my shots were getting blocked, it was good to get one in.”

Dudas’ goal came at 15:43 of the third period with assists by C.J. Severyn and Chris Lawrence.

“We have a good team, we work hard,” said Dudas. “We just shot ourselves in the foot with too many penalties.”

The Solar Bears ended the game with 11 penalties; three for high-sticking, two for interference, two for tripping, one for roughing, one for holding, one for slashing and one for interference on the goalkeeper.

“It’s frustrating, I’m sure they are frustrated. We got to realize that we play 60 minutes. We are gonna take some penalties here and there, but nine penalties is way too much to take.”

Luka Vidmar scored the third goal of the night with assists by Robby Dee and Hunter Bishop at 5:40 of the third period.

Following a goal by Andrew Cherniwchan on the second period and a goal by Cameron Brodie in the first period.

The Solar Bears will face off against South Carolina on Sunday, Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. to close out the weekend series.
