UCF will welcome UAB for a conference series Friday thru Sunday. The Knights are returning to Jay Bergman Field after sweeping their five game road trip. The Knights currently hold a 24-6 overall record, with a 5-1 Conference USA record. The Blazers overall record stands at 18-12 with a 2-4 Conference USA record.“The key for this weekend is we have to keep playing fundamental baseball,” said head coach Terry Rooney. “I want to see our starting pitchers go deep in the game.”Brian Adkins, Chris Matulis, and Ray Hanson were the starting pitchers during the series against Houston last weekend. Rooney must be pleased with their performance because he is keeping the same rotation.“We switched it up a little bit. Those are three older guys who I thought will give us the best chance to win,” said Rooney.
LHP Adkins (2-0, 4.61 ERA) will start on Friday at 6:30 p.m.. LHP Matulis (4-0, 2.10 ERA) will start on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and RHP Hanson (2-1, 1.67 ERA) will start on Easter Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
