Orlando sports franchises team up for #OrlandoUnited
The professional sports teams of Orlando are joining forces to support the victims of Sunday’s tragedy by selling t-shirts at upcoming events around the city.
Net proceeds from sales will go to the City of Orlando’s OneOrlando Fund, OneOrlando.org.
“We are proud to unite with our fellow local sports teams to provide support to those personally affected by this unimaginable tragedy,” said Orlando Predators President Jared Saft.
Funds donated will support nonprofits that are aiding victims, affected members of the LGBTQ and Hispanic communities, to help understand underlying causes of the event and other unforeseen expenses that lie ahead.
The shirt will bear the slogan “#OrlandoUnited” and will be sold for $22 for adult sizes and $18 for youth sizes and will be available in black, blue and purple.
Shirts will be available starting this Thursday, June 16, at the Orlando Magic Amway Store and at a Pop-Up shop on WallStreet. Starting on Friday, June 17, they will be available on the Orlando Solar Bears online store.
They will also be for sale at the upcoming Orlando City game on Saturday, June 18 and at the Orlando Predators game on Friday, June 24.
“In the face of such senseless devastation, the Orlando community will be defined by its strength and unity. Our hearts go out to all of those impacted by this weekend’s events and we will continue to provide assistance in any way that we can.” said Shaft.
