Cyle Larin scored the game-winning goal in the 87th minute to give Orlando City their first win since April 3.

ORLANDO — Orlando City went into Saturday night’s matchup against the Montreal Impact having been winless in their last 6 games, and were in desperate need of a win as they found themselves slipping to the bottom of the eastern conference standings.

The Lions came out aggressive, receiving three yellow cards in just the 1st half of play and would end the game with a total of 5 yellow cards. Adrian Winter, Brek Shek and Carlos Rivas all were booked early, as the match became very physical between the two teams.

Montreal were first to strike in the 4th minute with a goal from Ignacio Piatti, who Adrian Heath said is “one of the best players in the league”.

The Lions would respond back though. Late before the half ended at the 43rd minute Cyle Larin would skim one in off a free kick shot by Kaka.

The match remained tied late through the 2nd half, and right when it began to seem as if the match were to end in a draw, Larin touches one into the back of the net at the 87th minute off another assist from Kaka, as Orlando City held on to win and get their first win since April 3rd.

“When we’re that low, it feels good to bring ourselves back up” had Larin to say on getting the big win for Orlando City.

The Lions got a great performance from the team having put up 7 shots on target, completing 84 percent of their passes, and putting 8 open play crosses in. The Lions are created many scoring opportunities for themselves, and their goalie, Joe Bendik, is did an exceptional job keeping balls outside the net, having three key saves for the lions tonight.

The Lions look to keep the momentum going as they have a short week and will face the Philadelphia Union in four days at home with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
