With 36,048 roaring fans Orlando City started off play Sunday afternoon with a first minute penalty by Kaka to raise the Lions ahead against the visiting New England Revolution. The fastest PK in MLS history, it should be noted.

The captain was given the opportunity after Julio Baptista was taken down harshly and the referee pointed towards the spot without hesitation. Baptista had a special game due to it being his first start for the club while goal-scorer Kevin Molino, who was celebrating his 100^th game for the club, scored in the 94th minute of stoppage time.

New England had their response ready and pushed back with 11 shots in the first half to Orlando’s 5. The Revolution equalized with Bunbery scoring in the 37^th minute. Coach Heath said that Orlando had played poorly in the 1^st half but fought back in the second.

Talking about the last minute goal for Orlando Coach Heath said “you think you won the game, but I can’t fault the players for their efforts.”

Molino was subbed on along with Larin which saw Orlando City play a better game during the second half. With the final moments of the match being highly contested with two stoppage time goals there was disappointment for tying the game so late.

Servando Carrasco had been called for a hand ball and the ball was placed outside the penalty area. After a few minutes of discussion and wild gesticulating on the field by some of the players, the ball was placed on the spot for a penalty kick. Lee Nguyen, who had a strong game against the lions, slotted the penalty away to come away with a point for New England.

Even with the dropped points in the final moments of the game Coach Heath praised the fans for their usual raucous support. “As I’ve said before, this is an intimidating place to come and play. I thought our fans were absolutely magnificent again today. That’s what football is about.”
