LIVE BLOG: Orlando Predators vs Jacksonville Sharks (playoff quarterfinals)
The Orlando Predators (12-6) take on the rival Jacksonville Sharks (10-8) in the quarterfinals of the Arena Football League playoffs on Saturday, with the winner advancing to the semifinals.
Orlando is led by quarterback Randy Hippeard, who set an Arena Football record with his 74.2 completion percentage during the regular season. Hippeard along with dynamic wide receivers Brandon Thompkins and Larry Brackins have led to Predators to their best season in franchise history.
The winner of the game will advance to the semifinal where they face the winner of the Philadelphia/Cleveland game.

FINAL – The Orlando Predators fall to the Jacksonville Sharks 55-33 at home to end their 2015 season. Jacksonville will now head to face the Philadelphia Soul for the American Conference championship.
0:01 – Orlando makes one final effort and scores a touchdown to close the gap, JAX still ahead 55-33
4:50 – And again, Derrick Ross trucks into the endzone for Jacksonville. With the successful PAT, Sharks now lead 55-27.
8:13 – Fullback for Jacksonille Derrick Ross spin moves into the endzone. The PAT is no good, Sharks lead 48-27.
11:45 – Hippeard attempts a hail mary to B. Thompkins but the ball bounces off the wall and is caught by the Sharks’ Greg Reid giving Jacksonville the ball on their 1-yard line.
13:10 – Joe Hills makes his fourth touchdown catch in the endzone from Grady to bring Jacksonville up 42-27.
END OF 3RD – The Jacksonville Sharks lead the Orlando Predators 35-27.
3:39 – Kendal Thompkins escapes a tackle to bring it in for an Orlando score. The PAT is good this time, JAX leads 35-27.
4:54 – Orlando forces a turnover-on-downs and will get the ball on their own 17-yard line.
7:56 – Larry Brackins makes a toe-tapping catch in the endzone from Hippeard after a 8 minute drive. The PAT is no good, the Sharks lead 35-20.
HALFTIME – The Jacksonville Sharks lead the Orlando Predators 35-14 going into the locker room. JAX’s Tommy Grady has completed 19 of 21 passes for 198 yards and four touchdowns. Orlando’s Randy Hippeard is currently 11 of 21 for 157 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
0:05 – Grady connects with Joe Hills for his third touchdown of the night. The extra-point is good, Bringing the Sharks ahead of Orlando 35-14.
0:13 – Hippeard is brought down behind the line to bring up 2nd and 15 for Orlando, then Hippeard throws an interception that was then fumbled and recovered again by Orlando to get the first down for the Preds. The play is overturned however with the officials ruling it an interception giving Jacksonville the ball on the 25-yard line.
0:30 – Grady passes to Joe Hills in the endzone on 3rd down for a Sharks touchdown. The PAT is good, Jacksonville pulls away 28-14.
0:47 – Predators attempt the onside kick but Jacksonville recovers on Orlando’s 4-yard line, then is pushed back to the 20-yard line on a holding penalty.
0:54 – Greg Carr uses all 6’6″ to make the catch from Hippeard, then finds his way into the endzone for an Orlando touchdown. The PAT is good, Jacksonville still leads 21-14.
3:22 – Kendal Thompkins makes a high flying catch on 3rd down to bring Orlando to Jacksonville’s 24-yard line.
5:22 – Tiger Jones makes a diving catch for Jacksonville to bring them within 10, then Grady connects with Joe Hills in the endzone. The point-after is good, Jacksonville leads 21-7.
9:02 – On the Sharks’ 4-yard line, Orlando loses control of the ball during the hand-off and Jacksonville recovers the ball on their 7-yard line.
10:50 – Orlando’s Nick Taylor picks up a loose ball to give Predators possession again. Orlando will start on their 22-yard line.
12:50 – On fourth down Hippeard connects with B.Thompkins on a 45-yard pass to put Orlando on the board for the first time tonight. The PAT is good, Orlando is now in this ball game, but remains behind Jacksonville 14-7.
END OF 1ST – The Orlando Predators are in a slump as they are behind the Jacksonville Sharks 14-0 going into the second quarter.
0:31 – Orlando will start their drive from their own 5-yard line.
0:45 – Another touchdown for Jacksonville as Grady keeps it and falls into the endzone. With the successful extra-point, the Sharks now lead 14-0.
6:09 – The Jacksonville defense is able to force a turnover-on-downs with Larry Brackins dropping a pass in the endzone. Jacksonville has the ball on their own 6-yard line.
9:03 – B. Thompkins makes another catch from Randy Hippeard to bring up first and goal from the 8-yard line.
11:07 – Brandon Thompkins receives the kick for Orlando and weaves his way to their 15-yard line.
11:54 – Grady makes the short pass to Anthony Jones who finds his way into the endzone, the PAT is good. Sharks take an early lead, 7-0.
12:39 – Tommy Grady is making plenty of connections with WR London Crawford to move up the field.
14:50 – Jacksonville returns the ball to the 6-yard line but a penalty pushes them back to the 3-yard line.
15:00 – Orlando will kickoff to Jacksonville to start the game.
