Bernard Morris will start at quarterback for the Orlando Predators on Saturday against the San Antonio Talons.

After losing two games in a row, the Orlando Predators will start Bernard Morris at quarterback for this weeks game against the San Antonio Talons on Saturday, June 8 in Texas.

Jason Boltus, who started the year in the number one spot, suffered from a knee injury a few weeks back against the San Jose SaberCats and was out of action until last Saturday’s game against the Iowa Barnstormers. Boltus had missed three games before returning to the field.

During that game, Boltus would only complete 11 of 22 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns. He was then taken out in the fourth quarter and Morris stepped up to complete 12 of 16 passes for 174 yards and four touchdowns in just 15 minutes of play.

Prior to his return from the injury Boltus has held onto the sixth spot for top quarterback in the league throwing 174 of 294 passes for 2389 yards in total, but after the dismal performance in Iowa he is going to need some more time for recovery

“No offense to Boltus, he’s just a bit rusty after coming back from the injury.” said head coach Rob Keefe at practice Thursday about Morris starting against San Jose.

This will be Morris’ third game starting for the Predators and his fourth game on the team. In his short stint, he has completed 47 of 75 passes for 748 yards and 16 touchdowns.

Orlando currently hold a 6-5 record, which sits them at the top of the Southern Division, although Tampa is not far behind with a 5-6 record. Winning the division would set up the Predators for a home game in the playoffs.

Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 in San Antonio, Texas. The game can be watched live on ESPN3.com
