Being kind for no reason
February 1, 2014
Valencia’s Student Development offices college wide will be sponsoring the first ever Valencia Random Acts of Kindness week from Feb. 10-14.
The week will include a number of events on all of Valencia’s campuses including Smiles for Cookies, random flower giveaways, a Valentine’s drive for a local children’s hospital, Pass It On Pins, and more.
Event coordinator Jason Dodge wants to make sure and highlight the bigger picture though.
“Our concept for the week is simple: one act, big impact,” said Dodge. “Our goal is to bring awareness of the fact that every individual has the opportunity, every day, to positively impact someone else’s life. Anything from a random smile or complement to a thank you card or phone call to reconnect with an old friend,” added Dodge.
The Lake Nona Campus will be the headquarters for most of the events beginning at 11 a.m Monday, Feb. 10 in the main hallway. Students will be able to make their kindness pledge for the week. There will also be free food and giveaways.
For more information on the events throughout the week, or how you can get involved contact Student Development Coordinator Jason Dodge at [email protected].
