ORLANDO – The University of Central Florida Knights’ third game of the Wawa Classic weekend against Troy University was canceled due to a rain storm on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 24 at Jay Bergman Field.
The Knights were entering the last game of their weekend undefeated as they hosted the classic for Texas Tech, Troy and Connecticut.
The 11 a.m. game of Texas Tech vs. Connecticut was pushed back due to the rain delay and was then played at 2 p.m., which postponed UCF’s game until 6 p.m. After further review on the weather and conditions on the field the game would go on to be canceled and scratched. The two teams will not make up the game.
UCF would play two games previous to Sunday’s scheduled game for the classic in which they defeated the University of Connecticut Huskies 7-3 on Friday, Feb. 22, and the Texas Tech Red Raiders 13-8 on Saturday, Feb. 23.
The Knights will play their next game at home on Tuesday, Feb. 26 against the University of South Florida Bulls at 6:30 p.m.
