UCF ready for BCS debut

SCOTTSDALE — Blake Bortles and the rest of the UCF Knights had their Fiesta Bowl media day on Monday, where they addressed reporters for the final time before Wednesday’s game.

UCF will be making their BCS bowl debut on Wednesday, in what will be the Universities 6th bowl appearance. The Knights are currently 2-3 in bowl games and will look to bring that record to .500 with a win over the Baylor Bears  on Wednesday.

“They’ve been excited since we got the invitation to the BCS bowl.” said UCF head coach George O’Leary during media day. ” It hasn’t changed. I think we have a young enough team, they’re like wild ponies out there wanting to get into the game.”

The Fiesta Bowl will be played on Wednesday, Jan. 1 at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. EST and the game can be watched on ESPN.
