Defenseman and Orlando native Myles Harvey will join the Orlando Solar Bears for the upcoming season after playing the last four seasons for Providence College (NCAA), where he served as an alternate captain during his junior and senior seasons.

Born in Montreal, Harvey was raised in Florida where his parents resided. Myles was involved in hockey since a young age and moved away at 15 to pursue a better hockey surrounding, but he still spent his summers in Florida.

“I spent the off seasons training here in Orlando, so it feels comfortable to be back and i’m definitely excited.” Harvey said

At 6-5, 225 lbs Harvey brings the size to help contribute on the defensive end.

“Myles certainly makes our blue line bigger,” said Head Coach Vince Williams in a team statement. “He brings an element of size and strength to our back end.”

Harvey said he’s excited to play in front of friends and family for the home opener at Amway.

“It might be a little pressure, but pressure comes with great reward…having some familiar faces in the stands will be nice,” he added.

The Solar Bears will open up the season Oct. 19th against the Florida Everblades
